Re-opening
We’re excited to be soon re-opening our doors, which we anticipate will be on the 1st August. We’ve been working very hard to navigate the new ‘norm’ to ensure that your stay with us is as safe as possible, whilst still being enjoyable, relaxed and comfortable. Whilst things may look a little different, we hope it will still feel the same. We’ll still deliver the same attention to detail and friendly and personalised service you are used to at Lancaster Barn.

What to expect
We have implemented a range of procedures and extra-steps to ensure the safety of guests and staff. We’ll respond to any new or amended Government advice, and share updated information with you as soon as possible. Social distancing plays a vital role, so we urge guests to apply common sense whilst staying at the Barn, and in return we will be doing the same for you. Importantly, we will not allow any team member displaying symptoms inside the Barn and we ask you to exercise the same approach. We’ll be using the correct PPE and appropriate face coverings, for both ours and our guests safety.

Before you stay
We’ll give you a call prior to your arrival, just to answer any questions you may have, and give you information about our revised check-in procedure. In addition, you will have the option to pay your room balance in advance, it’ll help to assist social distancing and speed-up the check-in process. Check-in is strictly from 4pm onwards, to allow time for the ‘Room Safe’ cleaning process to take place.

On arrival
Please use the hand sanitiser before entering the Barn, then head to the Reception as normal. You’ll notice new signage to assist with social distancing guidelines, along with Perspex screens. Our regular paper check-in forms won’t be used – we should have all the details we require from the phonecall prior to your stay. If you’ve taken advantage of the option to pre-pay in full, we’ll direct you to your room (we would normally personally show you to your room, but we hope that you still find our adapted system to be just as friendly and welcoming).

Your room
In addition to our usual high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, we have introduced a ‘Room Safe’ procedure which implements a disinfecting ‘fogging machine’, which disperses a safe, non-toxic, fine dry mist, effective against Coronavirus and is certified BS EN1276. This ensures all areas of the room are sanitized, including soft furnishings. Our enhanced regime also includes careful sanitizing of touch-points, such as light switches, remote controls and door handles. Your room will then be sealed to ensure no other guests or staff have entered since this cleaning process.

Housekeeping

We normally operate a daily housekeeping service, but for now we have adjusted our procedure to minimise time spent in guest rooms. If you are staying more than one night, we will refresh your room following the second night of your stay, at a time when you are not present. If you would prefer no-one to enter your room, we’ll be happy to arrange to leave fresh linen and towels along with a sealed bag of toiletries and provisions outside your room. You can leave any used linen etc in the bag provided.
For your peace of mind, our bed linen and towels are laundered to BS EN 14065.

Breakfast
Sadly our much-loved ‘Barn Buffet’ won’t be offered for the time being. So instead, there’s a couple of options for breakfast time, you can either opt for a ‘Breakfast Basket’ to be delivered to your room door, or you can still dine in the Breakfast Room (even outdoors, weather permitting) where you can order from the menu and be served at your table. Whichever you choose, you can be assured of the same quality and standards as always. Tables will be spaced out according to the relevant guidelines and hand sanitiser will be provided.

Eating out locally
As most eateries will likely be operating with reduced capacity, we’d recommend that you contact local pubs and restaurants prior to your stay to make table reservations in advance and check adjusted opening times. Our wonderful local inn ‘The Bay Horse’ is temporarily reducing it’s opening hours to four days a week (Thursday to Sunday), so if you are visiting us on a day when they are closed, we can arrange a ‘Mini-Larder’ to be left in your in-room fridge, we’ll ask you about this prior to your stay.

Check-out
We’ve adapted our check-out process to reduce contact, so you can simply pop your room key in a deposit box for us to sanitize. If necessary, you will be able to pay any balance due at Reception. Unfortunately we cannot offer to store any luggage for you, and we ask that you check-out by 11am to allow enough time for room cleaning.

As always, by booking direct with us (either by phone or through our website), you can have absolute confidence that you can change or cancel your reservation up to 24hours in advance of your scheduled arrival date without charge. By booking directly with us, you will also be guaranteed the best room price, we are always cheaper than Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com etc.
