Maybe it’s a leisurely relaxed weekend brunch with friends. Or maybe it’s a bacon sandwich and a good coffee before heading off on the road.
Breakfast at the Barn is just whatever you want.
The best breakfast
The open, airy, light filled breakfast room, with floor to ceiling windows, is perfect for taking in views over the garden whilst you enjoy your breakfast.
Our breakfast menu offers both traditional favourites alongside modern lighter dishes. The avocado on toast is a favourite. Seasonal and homegrown produce often makes an appearance on the menu. Whether there’s a glut of rhubarb from the garden which makes a great compote swirled through youghurt, or kale from the veggie plot for a fortifying Super Greens Benedict.
There’s also the generous ‘Barn Buffet’ laden with fresh fruits, berries, yoghurts, granolas, compotes and poached fruit. Build your own layered breakfast pot and sprinkle with some chia seeds!
Provenance is especially important to us, which is why we choose only the best fresh ingredients for your breakfast. Our local sausages and dry-cured bacon are from family butchers ‘Penny’s’. Freshly baked bread arrives from local artisan bakers ‘Filberts’. Our coffee is roasted for us by ‘Atkinsons Roastery’ in Lancaster, who also produce our range of loose leaf teas. Our loaves are baked with organc flour, and just delicious with our homemade nut butters.
The insiders guide to eating out
As soon as you book to stay at the Barn, we’ll email you our ‘insiders guide’ to all our favourite places to eat in the area. Something to suit every mood, from a fish supper to a full-on dining experience. Our pick of the bunch simply has to be the Bay Horse Inn (barely a couple of minutes stroll away). An award-winning country pub, superb seasonal food, stunning garden terrace for the summer and crackling log fires in the winter.
Alongside a well-stocked minibar in you room, we have a small but perfectly formed wine selection, if you fancy a bottle.
