“Being a B&B, breakfast is the only meal served here, but what a meal it is. With its calming Scandi colours and stonking breakfasts, Lancaster Barn is the design-conscious foodies dream” – Olive Magazine
Food for thought
Start the day in the light and airy Garden Room and take in the views of the grounds whilst enjoying a hearty breakfast. We pride ourselves on serving home-grown and locally sourced produce, serving simple food done well.
We design menus to celebrate the seasons, inspired by the land that surrounds us, and peppered with freshly plucked herbs from our newly created herb garden.
Eating & Drinking
Before you arrive at the Barn, we’ll email you our ‘insiders guide’ to all our favourite places to eat in the area. Something to suit every mood, from a mid-week pizza to a full-on dining experience.
Our pick of the bunch simply has to be our neighbourhood restaurant and inn, The Bay Horse. Just a couple of minutes stroll away, The Bay Horse Inn is famed for owner and chef Craig Wilkinson’s culinary skills and his beliefs in using Lancashire speciality produce. Be sure to book in advance, as there’s good reason it’s recognised in the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide.
Or try The Fleece Inn, a country pub tucked away on the edge of the Forest of Bowland, and less than five minutes drive away. Full of friendly charm and character, and proper Lancashire pies.
Whilst Lancaster Barn is a B&B at it’s core, we can’t help but share the bounty of local produce with guests, and we just love to cook!
So, if you’d prefer to stay in, you can opt for our ’substantially small’ Seasonal Platter.
Local cheeses from surrounding farms, cured ham and venison from Lancaster Smokehouse, home-grown seasonal salads and fruit from our market garden—celebrating where we are and what we have.
You can dine in the Garden Room, outside, or have your Platter delivered to your room. Just pre-order 24 hours in advance and we’ll do the rest.
You’ll find Lancaster Barn is a grown-up and laid back affair, so fix yourself a G&T, grab a chilled beer from the honesty bar, or enjoy a sundowner on the patio with a bottle of English Sparkling wine.
